While The Hour
Four week residency at Testing Grounds with While The Hour during the Sustainable Festival, the topic of the year was the psychological effects of climate change.
In defiance, we celebrated rest, slowing times, rushing times, and thought of the nature and her impacts on us and our impacts we leave on her.
We would like to thank Cassandra Smith for inviting us to participate in what was a life changing event that we will never forget and Testing Grounds for supporting us throughout.
In 2017 Susannah Jo Foster and Roynae Mayes recreated the famous Michelanglo’s “The Creation of Man” whilst reclining on While The Hour’s hand crafted restival furniture at Testing Grounds. They are wearing T-shirts featuring the iconology of Dr. Eddie Time.
Inspired by a passage in Tom Robins’ “Even Cowgirls Get The Blues”, the clock is it’s own measure of time through the entropy of existence.
A collaboration between Roynae Mayes and Cassandra Smith where Bluestone was engraved while thinking about the implications of time. Imposing the Grid represents the colonial grid of Melbourne as it is inscribed upon the land.
